As Republicans, we desire a safe and secure home for each man, woman, and child. The role of government is to create conditions in which our citizens can safely and freely pursue happiness, which in history was equated with the pursuit of owning property.

We believe in the “American Dream” of homeownership. People thrive when they are building for the future. Our commitment is to “liberate the economy” so Nevadans are free to pursue happiness once again.

Depending on one’s circumstances, stage of life and long-term goals, renting rather than owning a home may be the best and/or only option. Therefore, we support a healthy market-driven (vs. government-dictated) rental market. When an economy is in balance, housing is affordable.

Yet the impact of a prolonged recession has been devastating, and too many of our citizens are without homes and in dire need of a helping hand. Though we believe that families, friends and communities best perform these functions, government (local, state and federal) and private organizations have created a vast network of housing and real estate resources.
