Heidi Seevers Gansert

Leader Seevers Gansert has served Nevada for nearly 20 years as an assemblywoman, chief of staff to Governor Brian Sandoval, and currently, state senator. In 2008, as a state assemblywoman, she became the first female Republican leader in the history of Nevada’s legislature. She has sponsored and passed legislation to make schools safer, expand behavioral health services for children with autism and promote women’s health. She’s also been a strong advocate of the Read by Third Grade program to improve reading proficiency at the elementary level and school choice to make sure children can attend the school that best fits their individual needs. Senator Seevers Gansert earned her Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Santa Clara University and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno. Prior to her work for the state, she had fulfilling career in the private sector as a resource planning engineer and medical practice management consultant.
