Senate Republicans Force Special Session Immediately Following Sine Die
(Carson City, NV, June 5, 2023) – Senate Republicans have shown up and been ready to work with Governor Lombardo and across the aisle since day one. On this final day of the 82nd Regular Session, it has become clear that there will be a Special Session to address the needs of all Nevadans. Although there has been ample time to address these issues during the regular session, the majority has neglected our priorities to support equitable funding for public charter school employees and staff as well as capital funding for charter school facilities. Nevada voters elected a Republican Governor, and the budget should be a reflection of our shared values.
“Nevadans elected Governor Lombardo because they were tired of the failed policies of the prior administration and the government being run by a single party. Our priorities for equity are reasonable and need to be addressed. The Senate Republicans fully support Governor Lombardo and await his call for a Special Session to find common ground solutions for Nevadans,” Leader Heidi Seevers Gansert stated.
